ABOUT US
RL Scapes is a proudly family-owned and operated business, built on more than 30 years of experience in the lawn and landscaping industry.
What began as Rivers Lawn around 15 years ago has grown significantly over the years. The business was originally named after our eldest daughter, River, who was just a baby at the time. Since then, what we offer has evolved well beyond lawn laying, and we felt it was time for our name to reflect the full range of services we provide today.
Our new name, RL Scapes, represents this next chapter. We’ve kept the RL as a nod to our roots and the recognition we’ve built through Rivers Lawn, while “Scapes” reflects the broader landscaping, irrigation and outdoor services we now provide.
Behind the business is husband-and-wife team Gav and Brooke. Gav brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience in lawn laying and the landscaping industry. Brooke originally managed the bookkeeping side of the business before stepping into the business full-time two years ago. Since then, she has developed a strong passion and expertise in irrigation and has become our resident reticulation expert.
While our name is changing, our values remain the same — quality workmanship, genuine service and a commitment to creating and maintaining outdoor spaces we can be proud of.

Landscape Designs
We help people with the overall ideas for what to do with their backyards. How much lawn to include, the inclusion of gardens, trees and plants, firepit areas, low cost side of house options like cracker dust or crushed limestone, steppers with mulch etc.

Yes. Where required, we can remove existing grass, weeds and unsuitable material before preparing the area for the new lawn.
Generally, irrigation should be installed and tested before the new lawn is laid. This allows the system to be positioned correctly and avoids disturbing the newly installed lawn.
